This was a BIG month for this little sweetie. On December 1st, she rolled over for the first time. She didn't manage to do it again until the 12th, and she hasn't stopped ever since then.
On December 22nd, she began sprouting her first two bottom teeth, and they managed to poke all of the way through the very next day. She never whined or fussed through it, just a little sleep deprived.
I also noticed that she was starring my food down whenever I would take a bite at any meal. So, we thought that we'd try rice cereal on the 23rd. She ate so well and never tried to push it back out. After that first try, she basically demanded it each evening and opens her mouth wide and scarfs it down.
Malia is so easy too. During the day, while I'm working, I'll feed her and then let her play for about an hour, then put her in her swing or bouncy seat with her binki. I'll hand her blankie to her, she grabs it, smiles, cuddles it and pulls it over her face and falls asleep. God has been so good to me!
She is an absolute delight! I love her soooo much! I honestly wasn't sure how I could possibly love a child like I love Gabe. He is such and amazing kid. I was a little nervous before she was born. I felt a little guilty for sharing that love with another baby other than Gabe. But, it's crazy how much I love her, and in such a different, yet the same way. MAN, I LOVE her!
Malia smiles non-stop, and her smile is HUGE! But, not as huge as her eyes. Her eyes are so round, and so big and bright. They sparkle! Everywhere we go, we get comments about her bright eyes. And, the cute thing is, she knows how to flirt with them already. She smiles with her eyes. They flash when she grins at somebody and she also uses that single raised eyebrow to throw a curve at her admirers.
And, my favorite part, is how much she loves her big brother. He can get her to laugh like no one else. She watches him, listens for him . . . to the point that he now has to remain quiet while I feed her because she will turn to seek him out wherever he is, my little A.D.D. eater. AND he loves her. It's such an amazing feeling to have him ask if he can kiss and love her, and if I can lay her down next to him, or sit in his lap. He talks to her and helps out if she needs a binki or a shove to roll back over in case she gets stuck.(His favorite!)
We are so blessed. We are so thankful and grateful for our kids. How did we get to be so fortunate? Thank you Lord! |
