District Champs

Mike has been coaching Fastpitch at Sammamish for 23 years now!!! This past Thursday and Friday his team played in the District Tournament and now this upcoming Friday and Saturday will play in the State Tourney. He has an incredible team this year. His teams always have done well, but this is one of those extra special teams. Friday, his girls clenched the District Champs Title in a 5-0 win over Blanchett. I had to capture some pics of the first place win, and will be posting more as they take the state title.

Gabe wore his baseball T with his Dada's favorite number on the front, #3. He also wore his rally hair to his preschool that day in honor of his daddy and the Sammamish girls. It worked and you can guarantee that he'll be wearing that same hairdo this next Friday and Saturday!

Mother's Day

We had great time for Mother's Day. We decided to skip the restaurant scene and have a picnic at Marymoor Park in Redmond. Our parents joined us at church, which was perfect, because the weather turned out to be chilly and we were praying for sunshine. It remained cold, but we made the best of it and had lunch and played catch and ran around with Gabriel.

Gabe has learned to listen to his Mama because for a year now, she's been wanting a bike trailer to tote him around. Now, we go on several bike rides a week! I love that boy!

Spring Concert

Well, I'm a little behind on the updates so make sure you check out all of the latest news!

May 11th, Gabe became a star! Yup, that's right, he's famous now! Just kidding.....he did have his first spring concert at Little People, his preschool. He attends Little People twice a week. The concert began with a cute little slideshow of all the kids that attend, and then the teachers led in the kids. Gabe's class was the first to perform. They sang a hip rendition of the ABC Song and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Gabriel pretty much hung out with his teacher Sara the whole time. He wasn't too sure about the whole singing thing. Which, is a huge surprise to us because he is now dancing to every single ounce of music or rhythm that he hears. He's pretty jiggy!

Afterwards, we had a picnic together out on the lawn. It was pretty fun! Yo Grandmama (Mike's Mom) came with us for the afternoon of entertainment.

Stay tuned....I'll be trying to post the video of his road to stardom performance!

Trip #1 to the Hospital

Gabriel has had two rough weeks and ended with a grand finale on Tuesday. Last week he finally beat a series of colds, when all three of us came down with the flu.

He was on the last leg of the flu when he fell at his preschool and hit his forehead on the edge of a bookcase. I picked him up with a significant knot on one side of his forehead with a line running down the middle of it matching the edge of the shelf. Then, we got home and I changed him into a pair of sweats, he slipped on the bottoms and nailed the other side of his forehead on the door jam of our closet.

The next day, Tuesday, I picked him up and we played outside as soon as we got home. As he walked up our sidewalk, he fell off the edge and hit his mouth on the concrete step in-front of our house. I picked him up with a bloody mouth. His upper lip, between his lip and his nose, had opened up and his gums on his top teeth we messed up. I cleaned him up, put him in the car and headed towards the hospital. Fortunately, I caught our Dr. before he left for the night. He and another doctor decided not to give him stitches because it would leave a bigger scar than allowing it to heal on its own. Also, it looked as though two gouges were taken out instead of split open. They said his gums would heal well on their own as well.

Today, Thursday, he actually looks really good. It looks as though he won't even have a scar. Kids heal so fast! But, I know who I married......ya know what they say......like father like son! Like the title of this post says, "Trip #1 to the hospital!"

Another Maniac on the Road!!!

Nana and Papa Johnson bought this hot set of wheels for Gabriel for Christmas. The first time we put him inside, he was only eight months old and he slipped right out the bottom. Now, he's all grown up and ready cruise.

Random

Okay, so I know these pictures are random and have no ties to one another, but isn't he cute?!!!

Gabe's 1st Trim

Earlier in April, I got my hair trimmed and so did Gabe. We're growing his hair out 'surfer style' but his bangs were beginning to get in his eyes. So, a little snip and he was good to go.
