Tball has been so much fun this year. It's so amazing how much the kids can do after playing just one season. Gabe is hitting harder, fielding the ball, diving after the ball, throwing with a powerful and much more accurate throw (he has his mom's wild arm....notice the picture where everyone is pointing where to throw in the background). He is definitely Mr. Tough Guy out there and loves being known as the big man on the team. He's a little stud out there!
We laugh so hard watching these little guys run around, some cry if they don't get the ball, some pout and don't want to be there, etc. It's hilarious! We got a good laugh out of Gabe standing on third base next to a fielder from the opposing team, who was the same age, but Gabe was a whole head taller than this other "little" guy.
Each inning, the team hits through the order, and the last kid gets to hit a "home run." Well.....Gabe and another little boy on his team are VERY competitive with one another. Cohen bats in front of Gabe. So, when it was Gabe's turn to hit a home run, he rounded the bases and saw Cohen out in front of him. Cohen rounds third and heads home, Gabe rounds third and sees Cohen touching home plate, Gabe wants to beat Cohen back to the buckets (their seats/bench) and Gabe doesn't bother touching home. He just runs straight from third to the buckets and, of course, is totally satisfied that he beat Cohen back to the bench! I wasn't able to include the video of it, so you'll have to take my word for it. When you're athletic, competitive parents like us, ya gotta love it!
