Dude

"Check out my studly abs!"

Friday was a georgeous day! I came right home after work and had to play outside with Gabe. It was so nice outside, that I figured that Gabe needed to put on his boardshorts and flipflops. So, me and my little surfer dude hung out in our front yard and around the neighborhood. There were a few local neighbor chicks that cruised by his pad, but none like his dudette Cristina Meeuwse.(she's a senior) He likes the older women! Haven...you're going to have to come visit so that you can make your move cutie pie!

Beware of Sharks

Saturday morning Gabriel found himself being chased by a shark. I just love him in his jammies!

Let's Party!!!

We had a shark themed birthday party for Gabriel this past Saturday, March 31st. His first birthday.....it is simply surreal that we've had this little package for a year already. What an amazing year. We are so in love with this little guy.
We had a shark shaped cake with a dorsal fin as his own special cake. We knew it was going to be a fun day when he started posing for the camera during his birthday breakfast. And, it was fun! I had a great time watching Gabe enjoy himself and just bringing back memories of the past year!

When we saw this T-shirt online, we had to get it for Gabriel to wear at his party. We thought it appropriately reflected the Eckhart sarcasm.

When it was time for us to have cake, we weren't sure what Gabriel would do with his own. He is a pretty laid back kiddo. I set his fin in front of him, he put both hands on top but he wasn't quite sure what to do from there. I gave him a taste from the back corner, and once he decided it was something that he wanted, off he went! He really dove in and got it everywhere!!! He had such a good time, that we had to haul him off upstairs to take a quick shower with Mike. He wasn't too happy about all of the frosting in his eyes, but it did make for a pretty good hair gel!

Mike's sister, Denise, and our neice Mandy, put together two amaaaaaazing scrapbooks for Gabriel's first year. She took all of the pictures and some of the email writings that I sent out, and added an enormous amount of detail, to put together unforgettable memories. I just can't fathom the amount of time it took to do all of that. How awesome!

We had a lot of fun at the party. I guess that's partially due to the fact that he's our boy! We appreciate everyone's love for Gabriel and it's such a blessing to know that he has so many friends and family that care for him as much as we do.

Caterpillar

Grandma and Grandpa Johnson bought Gabe a caterpillar tube for him to crawl through and play inside. It took a little bit to get used to it, but the morning after his party, I simply had to throw a few balls inside and in he went! He'll do anything for a ball!

Hello?

Last week I caught Gabriel with my cellphone. He picked it up, held it to his neck just below his ear, and walked around the living room chatting it up in baby talk. We crack up because we're really beginning to see the types of things that he's picking up from watching us.
