Well I sure have been slacking on posting new pictures on the blog! The last post that I made was Halloween, so I figured that I needed to get on the ball. Keep up, because here is Christmas from beginning to end!
Early in December, Mike and I invited our good friends the Dykstras to the Botanical Gardens in Bellevue. We bundled up and hauled the kids up there to see the detailed and stunning lights. I am always amazed at the time and thought put into making these illuminate decorations.
During the coldsnap, we had seen on the news that Snoqualmie Falls was mostly frozen over which triggered out interest to bundle up once more and look at that amazing sight. The pictures don't do it justice but it was stunning.
We then made another trip up to Bellingham to my parent's house for Christmas. Marlene, Mike's mom, came up with us again and we were so thankful to have everyone there....especially to make our new announcement that we are in fact pregnant with Baby Eck #2!!! We had not told Gabe about the news until Christmas morning, because he believes that a secret is when you whisper something to someone. We brought him into our bedroom before breakfast, told him the news that he was going to be a big brother and he was pretty excited. We gave him a t-shirt that said, "Big Brother," so that he could be the one to announce it. We thought it would be important for him to be included. Our family was estatic and phone calls rang out for the remainder of the morning. We are due August 7th!
While we were up visiting my parents, we also had the chance to meet up with our friends Susan and Rogerio from Brazil. They are here on furlow for one year and will head back this summer. It was so good to see them and all 5 of their kids. The oldest two were in our wedding and now they are so grown up already.
It has certainly been an eventful month and now I will be growing bigger and bigger and hopefully, I will be keeping you all up to date a little better as well!
