As of Late

Last Monday, March 31st, Gabe had tubes put in his ears. We've had a long winter of ear infections. The poor kiddo has had infections since Thanksgiving. He collected quite a bit of puss and infection behind his ear drums. So here we are ready to leave for the medical center, lookin a little sleepy at 5:45am. It was a success! His ears are in the clear and he gets to wear this super cool flourescent green neoprene headband to cover his earplugs whenever we go swimming or take a bath. We're so thankful to see him feeling good.

We had a strand of some nice weather so Gabe and I have been playing outside as much as we can lately. He loves playing with his popgun and we have to watch and wave to the train each time it goes by. We have been so blessed and feel such joy to have this little guy around.

2 Years In Love with Gabriel

In preparation of Gabriel's 2nd birthday, Mike picked up Gabe's present at Toys R Us on his way home from coaching softball at Sammamish. We planned on getting him a baseball batting unit that replenishes the balls for him, but much to my surprise, daddy had another idea. He came home with 2 presents! I was secretively shown the baseball unit on my way out the door to the grocery store, and when I came home, there was daddy....with a guilty look on his face (I'm sure his mother has seen it many times before) and tools and a new bicycle surrounded him on the floor. He just couldn't help himself. He's crazy for that boy!
"What? I thought I was supposed to buy him 2 gifts!"
We decided to brave decorating Gabe's cake this year. It actually turned out pretty good! I baked the cakes and Mike decorated it. I think that we may need to start up a little business!
Gabe is still trying to get his fingers to work to show how old he is.

Gabe got a Cars watch to wear on his big day.

Here is the back-up cake. This is the cake that I ran out to buy at the grocery store, only to come back and discover the building of gift #2 ~ the bike!

Mike praying for his boy for the upcoming year as a two-year-old.

This was the gift that we had planned on getting Gabe....originally. It's so cool! It plays ESPN music, the arm with the balls raises up to meet the dangling arm after pressing down on the red button on home plate. The balls meet the arm and attach like velcro. Then Gabe swings and I must admit, he can hit that thing stinkin' hard!

The new bike in action!

Scooter! Gabe has been wanting one of these for quite a while. He loves it and is starting to figure out that he can make it move without someone pushing him around.

Grandma Eckhart made this supercool tent for him. When Mike and I first got married, he made this table for me. Now the craftiness continues and Marlene measured the dimensions and created a tent/fort to slip over the table. The outside is decorated with Nemo, Cars, Shrek and ball. It's so cool and so creative!

School Party!

Last Friday, Gabriel brought cupcakes to school to share with his friends for birthday #2. All of the kids enjoyed the chocolate frosting on the chocolate cake and the toys from Cars.

Neither of us were able to attend Gabe's celebration. So, from what we have been told, feeding and taking care of the baby doll is one of his favorite things to do. . . so we've been told! I think it was all a set-up!
