Spring Randomness

As the "nesting" phase of my pregnancy sets in (31 weeks already!) we have started to clean out the guest room and preparing part of it for the baby.  We're not doing any decorating until baby arrives since we don't know if it's a boy or girl.  We were blessed with a play yard/port-a-crib that we'll be using so that guests can still use the bed in that room when they come to stay and the crib can be moved easily into our bedroom.  Mike prepped the attic space and I helped him fill it up, with the vast construction knowledge and guidance of Gabe.  I also FINALLY finished Gabe's surfer quilt......after 4 years!  Yep, I guess tackling a project after 4 years mean that I'm nesting.

I posted these pictures because I caught Gabe and Mike in the warm spring evening, eating bbq, chatting and enjoying each other's company.  I love watching these guys together.  Mike is the greatest daddy and I hope that Gabe can have even a smidgin of the character and integrity that his daddy has.

The weather was georgous for awhile......WAS georgous!  Gabe broke out his new 3-D Shark Attack slip-and-slide and we all had some pretty great laughs watching him attack the shark instead of the shark attacking him.  His 3-D goggles allow him to look like he is being swallowed up by the shark as he slides through those huge jaws.

Neeeigghh!

Mike's pitcher, Austin, lives on a ranch where her mom trains race horses.  They invited us over so that Gabe could ride Junior.  Austin led Gabe around the arena for awhile, showed him how to make the horse stop, go, trot, back-up and turn.  Then she took the lead off and let Gabe ride for himself and he did such a great job.

Memorial Weekend

Over Memorial weekend, we had planned to go camping.  But as many of you know, Washington had other plans....RAIN, showers, more rain, etc.  So, we spent Sunday and Monday at my parents' house for a visit.  We drove down to Boulevard Park, one of my most favorite places when I was in high school and college, and played on the beach.  We found all sorts of little crabs, eels, fish, anenomes, and star fish.  Then we cozied up by the outdoor fireplace at Woods coffee....mmmmm.
